Updated · Based on official sources listed below · How we research

  1. New: Graduate and professional school loan limits by program

We added a guide to the federal loan limits for graduate and professional school, with a page each for medical, law, dental, pharmacy, veterinary and optometry school, physician assistant, nursing (MSN, DNP, CRNA), physical therapy, MBA, master’s and PhD, and psychology programs. Since July 1, 2026, new students can borrow $20,500 a year ($100,000 total) as graduate students or $50,000 a year ($200,000 total) as professional students, with no Grad PLUS. Each page explains whether the program counts as professional, including the temporary list the Education Department published after a June 2026 court stay, and compares official cost figures with the limits.

  2. New: Parent PLUS funding gap for 80 colleges

We added a page for 80 large public and private colleges showing the cost of attendance, how much a family can borrow under the new $20,000 a year and $65,000 total Parent PLUS limits, and the gap left over. Each page links to the gap calculator with that college's cost filled in.

  3. Parent PLUS Calculator launches

The site launched with a funding gap calculator, a repayment calculator, a legacy provision checker and a graduate loan limits calculator for the Parent PLUS changes that took effect July 1, 2026: $20,000 a year and $65,000 total per student, at a 9.07% rate with a 4.228% fee for 2026–27.
